Am I thoughtless?
Or obnoxious to its flawless sense of negativity?
Do you wonder?
Or discover all the things you said I'd never want to be?
Do you remember mid September?
When we swore we'd never do this to ourselves.
But now we're older.
It's late October.
Now my Birthday isn't happy without you
The Alisons are an Alternative/Shoegaze band from Kingston Ontario. They self-released their debut EP, entitled "The Eiderdown", under the name Future Rose on April 22, 2017.
I bought Drowned in a Sea of Sound the day it was released, and it is one of my dearest possessions. I followed their blogspot and hung dearly onto any word, for all 10 years, afraid they'd never release another album. But here they are, as though they'd never left. The Daysleepers have the sonic beauty of Slowdive, the haze of Bloody Valentine, and the vocals of Airiel and Cocteau Twins, yet I prefer them over all the above. This album was well worth the wait. This is one of the best shoegaze albums I have heard this year, it kind've coincided with DEAFCULT's release of Auras, so I don't want it to be eclipsed. I want this on vinyl! If there is any physical format to this amazing LP, I need to find it! Thank you for this musical gift! Charlie Mayer
